Successful night of netball last night. Girls from Years 7 – 10 played in an inter-year tournament showcasing their skills. A successful event that will be replicated in the New Year. Reminder that there are NO clubs after school next week. They will commence again after the Christmas break.
Last night our Year 7 netball team were victorious over Maesydderwen with a 5-1 win. Jessica Richards was awarded player of the match. Year 9 netball were also victorious in a tough, well fought match winning by 15-13 against Maesydderwen mix of YEAR 10/11 team! Well done to Megan Johns who was awarded player of the match. Six Dwr y Felin pupils attended the U14 County Netball trials at Gowerton School. Megan Johns and Nia Evans were selected to represent the County Squad. What an amazing achievement.
Dwr y Felin pupil secured a Welsh Triathlon Bronze medal for the 2015 Series and was presented with her medal last week. She represented Dwr-Y-Felin School in the last triathlon of the season in Carmarthen putting in a great performance to secure the Bronze against a strong field of Year 8 athletes.
Our Year 9 and 10 netball teams were successful in their league match against Birchgrove last night. Year 9 played very well winning 11-6. Nia Evans being awarded Player of the Game! Year 10 convincingly won 11-2. A great performance by all including Megan Johns who stepped up to play with the Year 10s and awarded Player of the Game for her efforts. Well done ladies!

Congratulations to Bethany Moule, who has been selected to represent the Welsh Schools’ Athletics Association in the Schools’ International. These will be held on Saturday 18th July in Grangemouth, Scotland against teams from England, Scotland and Ireland. We wish her the best of luck.
Our young Athletics team represented Afan Nedd Tawe in the NASUWT Wales Athletics Competition. They were awesome. They were a credit to themselves and the school. They finished in 2nd place overall only slightly behind Cardiff & The Vale School, Glantaf. Within the results on the day, two of our girls set new records. Bethany Moule threw 40.76m in the Javelin.
